Trophy lodges in Josima Studios' Hunting Season serve as personal showcases where hunters exhibit preserved animals and customize cabin interiors. Introduced in game update v0.13.1, this feature allows players to place stands, buy indoor furniture, and build up an overall Lodge Score across different hunting reserves.

Accessing Your Trophy Lodge Across Maps

Every map in the game includes an option to access your personal trophy lodge. When spawning into Boulder Creek, the Savannah, or Saveryan Taiga, selecting "My Lodge" loads you directly at your cabin.

Lodges behave differently depending on the server type:

  • Private Servers: Your lodge exists as your private outpost, letting you build and rearrange your animal mounts without outside player traffic.
  • Public Servers: Player cabins physically spawn into the environment along trails and paths. You can walk directly up to and enter lodges owned by other hunters on the server to view their layouts and preserved kills.

Binoculars and weapons cannot be drawn while standing immediately inside or directly beside your personal lodge structure.

How to Preserve Harvests for Display

You can only place an animal inside your lodge if you actively preserve it at the moment of collection.

When you track down a downed animal and open the harvest screen, the interface displays vital hunting details:

  • Animal weight, age, and sex
  • Species variant and fur type (such as albino, melanistic, or piebald)
  • Hit placement and bullet trajectories with toggleable body and X-ray views
  • Rarity tiers, ranging from Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Diamond up to Ruby and Mythical

At the bottom of this screen, choose the Preserve button. Selecting Continue without preserving records the kill and awards cash and XP, but discards the specimen, preventing it from ever being mounted on a lodge stand.

Mount Sizes and Animal Restrictions

Cabins do not use universal slots for all taxidermy. Mounts come in distinct categories, and animals must match the surface dimensions:

Mount TypeSupported Animal CategoriesIn-Game Purchase Notes
Tabletop MountSmall game, such as Canada Goose and Ruffled GrouseDesigned to sit on top of furniture surfaces
Small / Medium MountMid-sized animals, including Coyote, Red Fox, and certain deerCompact floor base suited for tight corners
Large MountHeavy game, including Moose, Grizzly Bear, and TigerTakes up significant floor space; costs up to $20,000 cash
Circular MountVaried big game displaysPremium floor centerpiece

Physical boundaries prevent oversized game from snapping to small stands. A Siberian Tiger or Moose requires a large floor mount, while a Canada Goose can sit comfortably on a medium mount or tabletop surface.

Wall mounts and fireplace hanging mounts are not implemented in the game. Trying to place taxidermy onto chimney brickwork or interior walls will fail, meaning all trophies must be arranged across floor pedestals or designated tables.

Furniture Placement and Lodge Score

Arranging your lodge increases your Lodge Score, which appears in the top interface while inside the cabin and increases as you install stands and decorations.

The lodge edit menu includes several purchasable interior items:

  • Tables and Surfaces: Coffee tables and desks for decorating your interior.
  • Seating: Standard sofas and TV benches.
  • Electronics: Flat-screen TVs designed to fit atop entertainment benches.
  • Achievement Awards: Level plaques (such as Level 10 and Level 25 plaques) to highlight hunter progression.

If you misplace an item, the edit mode lets you rotate or destroy it. Removing a mount does not delete the harvested animal attached to it; the game returns the animal back to your harvest storage inventory, allowing you to reassign it to another stand later.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can other players enter your lodge in public servers?

Yes. In public servers, player lodges spawn directly on the map terrain. Anyone in the session can walk through the door and inspect your displays.

Can you mount animals on cabin walls or over the fireplace?

No. The game only supports floor mounts and tabletop stands. Wall mounts and fireplace mounts are not available.

What happens if you remove an animal from a mount?

Taking an animal down returns the trophy to your preserved harvests inventory. You can place it back onto an appropriately sized stand whenever you choose.
